Hi All, got to cleaning the Beta over the week-end for the first time since I got her.

Please advise
1. if this color is a std. issue color?
2. what best approach to take on sorting the rust at the windscreen?
3. damage on the boot due to the spoiler, is it worth trying to source a new one, as the old one's all rusted on the inside?

Hi Gerhard,

I think the colour is a standard lancia colour.  There should be a Paint code label on the underside of the boot lid.

New bootlid spoilers are very rare, so if you do find one then get ready to pay good money for it.

Search Ebay worldwide for one (think theres one on there at the moment)

colour looks like 679f ??
 windscreen will need to be removed then attack rust if you are lucky it will be superficial but can be quite serious at screen bottom corner it might need cutting and welding.
not sure which spoiler you had if it is the volumex type you can try to cut out the rust and seal in a new metal support using silicone roof sealant I've done that with mine fiddly but not a bad end result

Thanks for the inputs. i will get a photo of the spoiler. I saw a link about a spoiler in the process of being fixed, but then it died down. Wonder if the individual got to doing it.

I will look for the paint code, thanks.

that was me but there didn't seem any interest at the time so I kind of gave up on the post the repair worked quite well but it was a volumex spoiler not sure if they are the same construction as an IE spoiler or not (the shape is different)

Sorry did not know it was you.

Yes, I would like to know what you have done to fix it, I am still to green to Lancia to know if there will be a difference on the shape of the spoiler. By the way I saw one yesterday (fiberglass) with a company in USA, but they want $145.00 for it!! Converted to our currency (Rand) it will cost me R1, 145.00, which is very expensive.

Please help on the following:

The boot badge say 2000 I.E., but the instruction book say Lancia Coupe/Lancia H.P.E. (See photo's)
Can you tell me what model the car is? It was first registered in South Africa in January 1987, but according to my research the last one's were made in 1984!

Regarding the paint color:

The label in the boot say; Codice Sincom: 382/F and Colore; Verde scuro metall. (See photo) My Italian is no good. What does it say?

Your boot badges look correct for an ie. The handbook covers both models and by then lancia were a bit shy about using the term Beta, mainly because of the sheer age of the design by then.
My windscreen surround wasn't quite as bad and went back to sound bare metal with an electric sander (without windscreen removal). This might be worth a try before taking the screen out, although as Rosso Corsa points out there is a good chance that the rust has got under the screen.

the colour translates as dark green metallic, although from the paint chip I have it doesn't seem all that dark?? This was a standard colour for the S2FL2 range although for some strange reason it wasn't offered in the UK (actually all IE coupés sold in the UK were red or black!!)

re windows it will be wear on the drive worm of the system it can be removed and reversed to move wear to a different spot I think there'll be a how to somewhere on this site. I'll post some more info on the spoiler repair on the original thread when I have time I need to check if i have more photos

Yes, they had to remove the windscreen, which was a pain in the butt. Unfortunately in the process of removing it, they scratched it. Regarding the body work, some welding was done on the badly rusted areas. Interesting to note that the paint was the most expensive portion of the restoration project.
