Hi,

I'm having trouble with the turning/signaling lights on my HPE IE '83. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I've checked the fuses, the groundings under the headlights and the handle on the steering collumn. This all seems to be ok. Does anybody have any other ideas what the problem might be? Could it be the solenoid switch?

Best,

Owen

It's possible
1) do you still have hazard warning working
2) do the indicators stay on (solid light)
3) do you get nothing at all

Huh?

Hi Colonel,
Thanks for your reply. The hazard lights also do not work and the indicators do not light up at all. Hope this tells you anything..

That would suggest a faulty relay or faulty haz switch.

1) check the haz switch connections then try operating/wiggling the haz switch a few times.
2) tap relay with haz switch on.
3) try another relay.
4) re-check power and earth
5) buy replacement Beta with working indicators ;-})

Hi Colonel,
I've bought a new Beta and now it works! Thank you so much!  Grin
No, I've replaced the haz switch. The old one felt a bit dodgy already and sometimes got stuck a little bit, so that turned out to be the culprit. Now all works like a charm. Thank you for the tips, you should be promoted to general!

Best,

Owen
