HELP!

i have just finished rebuilding my vx and though i had it running before it went to the painters, i could'nt get it running when it came back so booked it into the local engine tuneing garage for him to sort.
Anaylsis

1. fuel pump is knackered and not giving any pressure.    Any ideas where i can source one (cheap if poss)
2. accelerator diaphagrm is split. Again any ideas where i can get this part or even a full repair lit.
3.it needs a new alternator belt. am i right in assuming that a std belt for a 2000 twin cam will fit the vx engine.

Eurocarb in London 0118 943 1180 (speak to Robert) keep diaphrams etc.
they will also have pumps but ebay might be a better bet if you know the
pressure required.

Easiest way to get the belt is take the old one into any accessory store
they can measure against a new one then just keep a note of the number.

i will call him tomorrow as i need to get it sorted quick.

any idea what the pressure is on the fuel pump or do you know how i can find out

did you get the headlights?

Hi Simon,

don't know the pressure for the pump but as there is a tank return before the
regulator I would think it should be 7psi as weber carbs normally run on 3.5 psi.
The guys at Eurocarb will know anyway.

Sorry, should have confirmed receipt of the lights, all rec'd thanks,  been away upsetting the
Germans, Gamma meeting in Stuttgart  (456 mls in 5.5 hours, I love de-restricted autobahns)

100% success

spoke to robert at eurocarb today and was very helpfull.    web site www.dellorto.com

vx weber carb repair kit part no:DCA £22 plus vat

vx fuel pump p/n fp603 £ 98 plus vat

have ordered these items and hopefully car will be running this weekend.

Hi Simon

3 bar/ 45 psi seems a very high pressure for a carburetor
hope your pressure regulator is up to the job.

Still, Eurocarb do know what they are doing.
