REF. Series 3 - 1982 Beta coupe with a 5 pin wiper motor connection

Hi,

Has anyone substituted the front wiper motor with something compatible and more affordable than a new or used OEM part ?

Mine wasnt working and upon inspection of the motor, the contacts inside the cover cap are pretty much burnt out and in-turn has overheated causing the "lump" on the "return to park" cam to be also burnt and not functional.

Definitely time for a new one but they are just so incredibly expensive new (160 GBP and then another 50 to ship to me in Australia). I can source a used part but they all look very old and there is no telling if they are as bad as the one that I am replacing. The available used ones are also big money.

Anyway, surely there is an acknowledged substitute part, even after a bit of modification ?

Googling this motor shows up hundreds of motors which all look physically similar.

Cheers.

Steve

Also....anyone know the differences are between the 5 pin and 6 pin motor connections.

Both seems to be listed as the correct parts for a Beta
