Well it's not a myth as well all know, just a hens tooth. I spotted a (probably fraudulent) listing on Facebook this evening with the following photograph showing a pair of them....

And it just so happens that I have one that looks like the lower of the two! I now assume that the upper one has the cover slid back which reveals the Lancia logo? So now I've tried to slide the cover back on the one I have but it seems to be completely stuck. Has anyone ever managed to restore one of these and/or can anyone suggest a way to release the cover so it'll slide? I'm thinking a soaking with PlusGas or similar. But I definitely don't want to risk damaging it!

Whilst an interesting curio, I had always figured they were purely of their age and today a complete waste of money given the likely battery life and brightness would have been marginal even when new. You could of course retrofit led and a modern rechargeable to it I guess…….
