Hello
Today, I received and fitted a boot light on my facelift Spyder. 😊
It is a reproduction I believe, obtained from the Oldtimer shop in Slovenia.
For anyone who hasn't used them before (forgive me if this has already been said) I have found them extremely helpful in the past. Good customer service, quality product, quite a good supply of used parts and reasonable prices.

So the light is now working and it looks like it is designed to be on when the car lights are switched on even with the boot lid closed
Is this the case?
It looks like it is from the Haynes circuit diagram.
Thanks and regards

Hi Clifford,

I would be interested in seeing a photo of the light.

Hi Clifford

Yes on all the time the lights are on is how it was designed because there is no switch on the boot lid.

Pictures of light on the car.
Piece in hand is what was left of the original light.

It's not an uncommon light. Fiat 124 Spider, Lancia Beta, Lancia Stratos & Lada too.

Purely out of interest,  I have had two lights in my boot for 10 years, controlled by an earthing switch  on the boot lid.

That is very neat solution. I went for the simple solution with a switched unit out of a Coupe linked to the lighting circuit as there is no live feed into the boot on my early car.

Looks good Peter and will give plenty of illumination positioned there.
