Hi

As the Beta has not got a modern towing eye and I am sure that the car at some point will be in need of one (am I being too pessimistic?) any suggestions how I provide a towing point?

The towing point should be a hole in the front subframe near the right hand front mounting bolt. If you want to screw in a towing eye perhaps you could fabricate a suitable bracket and attach it to that mounting bolt.

Hi Frank

Thanks, I will take a look and see what makes sense. I did not want to end up with some tow guy just placing the strap/hook in any old place and ending up with damage as a consequence.

Hi Peter

VX cars have a bolt on towing eye that attaches to the subframe and drops below the spoiler neatly, which is what I am using. I had an Alloy one made for the rear for the 2 large central bolt holes behind the valance.

Located the towing point! Should have realised before now it was there. As a stop gap I have ordered a pair (only need one) of tie down straps which have loops either end which should provide clearance and some protection away from the front if a hook and wire are needed onto a tow truck. They tend to be used for motorcycles to prevent damage when being tied down with straps and hooks.

Hi Peter

the rear one  is removable by un- bolting not really a very elegant solution and better suited to a track car. The front VX OE one un bolts
