Was tempted to stay over the Friday night so I could do the local parkrun but it would mean getting to Mark's ~11 am...

I tried finding a place in or near Hawkchurch but no success.

I opted to book Podimore Travelodge for Friday eve to give
me a short drive in the morning.

I have a reservation at the George in Axminster as the only available choice I could find in Axminster.

I am assuming I arrive late after the working day and 3 hour drive.

John The breakfast looks good. What time had you in mind?

Cheers

We're booked in at the Dolphin Hotel in Chard for the Friday and Saturday night, and am intending to arrive at the hotel late afternoon, so happy to meet up for a meal a bit later on.

Hi Chaps

I will be gifting Mark 2 crates of stock when I arrive for this event as well as having a few bits for sale like a mohair spider hood and torneau cover, top quality Sony Cassette and CD Stacker combo and Sony Speakers. I might also have some interesting performance goodies.

Looking forward to it.

Splendid. My debit card is looking apprehensive, though...

Sounds like a few of us will be local this evening so a good excuse for a pint.
Any preference on how to share contact details without it being public?

I drove down from Sheffield (not in a Beta, unfortunately), starting at about 10 a.m., and I finally arrived in Chard at about 16:30. Traffic was horrendous. I didn't really stop, so headed straight out to the nearest (recommended) Indian restaurant, and have just returned to hotel room, belly full and content. (And with half a bottle of excellent Argentinian Malbec on board).

Whereabouts is everybody staying? I'm staying over in Chard for Saturday night, as well as tonight, before braving the return journey on Sunday. Very happy to meet up tomorrow (or even tonight) for a natter and a drink.

Many thanks to Mark Wastnidge today for a really lovely day at his open day at Betaboyz parts HQ! Really good turn out with several travelling some considerable distance. Definitely worth doing more often.
So lovely to meet new and old friends and especially an events manager to help with Beta 50!! 😊

Such a long time since I have posted on here but I felt compelled to congratulate Mark for his opening day. As Amanda said, amazing for so many  to come from so far for a few hours. Great to meet fellow beta owners  and to hear so many restoration projects on the go hence not many betas present. enjoyed my short trip over from Yeovil in the coupe and emptied my wallet for a set of strut inserts.thanks again Mark

Well Done Mark

A useful and fun event where I was able to re-enforce my chief car bore status and as always learn from others. I loved the real world Beta with the iPhone wedged by the ashtray and a Marshall speaker in the PS Footwell. Enjoying Betas without the fussy nonsense I waste a lot of time on!
Aladdin's Cave is the right description for the Goldmine of Beta Parts Mark holds and surround you. Those that only look at the web shop are only looking at the shop window probably not realizing the elusive bits you need are at Beta Boyz and Mark can only get a small part of it on the web given a busy life and day job.

I love the Trevi Retro Performance and the Beta Coupe track day cars in build.

Thank you

Mark
I wonder how many will now arrive home a say "whilst I was there I should have got XXX"
