If it goes to plan I'll land at Luton at 18:00, I should be in the car (Tim's Spider  - thanks) by 19:00 and with you by 20:30. Don't eat all the BBQ Smiley

Julia of course has the day off and is not mucking around with planes so no doubt she'll be in the pool at 14:03

Hi all,

If all goes well, I will be attending on Sunday in my HPE.
Just one question; at some point the car will probably need fuel in the UK. Which brand of petrol station and which type of petrol that is guaranteed ethanol free do people recommend...? Just wanting to be sure as it's different per country apparently. Shell for instance guarantees that its V-Power is ethanol free in the Netherlands, but not here in Belgium...

Thanks and looking forward to meeting everyone on Sunday  Smiley

Just a quick note to those coming for the Sunday, as the hotel will not be selling food on that day, it is recommended you bring your own, or close by you will find lot’s local shops/pubs, here are just a few.

-The Packhorse pub 4 min walk from the hotel 01235832323
-The Applecart Beefeater 4 min drive 01235835168
-The Wheatsheaf Inn 6 min drive 01235833229
-Your Co-op Food 8-10 High St, Steventon, Abingdon OX13 6RS  4 min drive

The hotel Bar will be open, also selling tea/coffee.
We look forward to welcoming you over the weekend, weekend booking closed, but still time to plan your trip for Sunday, everyone welcome, with or without a Beta.

Hi Kevin, BP Ultimate is also very good, I have heard mixed opinions about v power but never about BP or the posh Esso stuff!

Here's to a great weekend & safe journeys everyone.

I suppose I am not the only one slow to surface this morning. Hope everyone got home ok - as if old cars left in the sun all day and a long way from home would do such a thing!

I just wanted to add my vote of thanks to the organising team- superb job.

I really enjoyed myself and it was great to meet old and new Beta friends. The car (or me for that matter) hadn't been out for a while, so it was great to be there.

I won't bore everyone with my photos- not that I took many - I was too busy looking - and talking!

Can I add my thanks to all the organisers of Beta 50 for a terrific weekend. We only managed to make the Sunday, but it was well worth the 8 hour plus round trip from North Yorkshire. To see so many Betas in one place was remarkable and testament to the hard work you have all put in.

I'd like to also thank all those people who brought dogs with them. They kept Caraline distracted while I wandered and chatted - I think Minnie was her favourite!

Cheers

Carl

Good to meet some of you yesterday and thank you for the tips & pointers to start my Spider project restoration - it's going to be a long haul but hopefully by the time the 60th comes around, it might be ready and if it looks half as good as some of the spiders that attended yesterday, I would be more than happy!
Well done to everyone involved in putting this on

May I echo thanks to all the committee for the superb organisation of this
past weekend. I understand that a couple of things were left out due to
Thursday afternoons sadness, but it didn't show, kudos to you all.

The hotel staff were brilliant, always a smile and very helpful.

It was truly awesome to see so many examples represented, and especially good
that many left-hookers travelled so far to be there.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Friday quiz, and had our team employed a little
more skulduggery we may well have.....ehem....na, maybe not.

Andy's "differences" talk on Sunday was very well presented, and left me knowing
a lot more.

Thankfully I had a fast and mostly jam-free trip back.

Nigel

Here is my ‘Thank You’ to the organisers, a totally enjoyable event from start to finish, learnt a bunch of things and got back completely shattered.

Stuart, not sure if I spoke to you, but if you need any help please get in touch. My Spider took 11 years to get on the road so know all about long hauls with their ups and downs.
