Hi all,

I have a brown mark inside the screen that is in front of the inner trim.

Has anyone else had this, and did you find a remedy other than removing the glass?

Thanks
Nige

Hi Nigel

I think you will find it is rust mark going into the laminate of the glass, solution is, I fear, replace screen.

Peter,
I should have acknowledged your reply earlier.....

Thanks for that. Can you tell from these pics whether I have a bonded or rubber-mounted screen?

My rear window trim appears identical....and I want to remove just the trim for rust repairs.
A previous reply from Ian [Squigly] suggested the 'dental floss' method, I assume using a thin wire thingy.

Cheers
Nigel

Hi

I have never seen a rubber mounted one, so all I can add is if the metal cover plate is bonded in then the screen will be bonded. I am not sure if the rubber ones actually still have the metal surround?
