Hi All

Another in a series of questions, where exactly do these fit? I know they came from around the front dash area, but am not sure exactly where they go.

Thanks

Peter

I'm pretty sure they live on the rear bulkhead to cover any gaps between and around the rear seats.

Hi Stuart

Thanks, I will see if I can find the gaps!

I seem to remember that at least one is from the front dash area as one has an indentation which may fit with the corner area near the storage bins in the footwell, but I will keep looking. I should get a better idea when I finally offer up the dash and the carpet etc.

Hi Stuart

Many thanks, also reminded me about the foam across the panels and that the fuel sender wires do go out of the main cabin, just need to sort out where they go once in the boot...

On mine they run through the hole at the bottom of the rear bulkhead (Brown and green wires in the second pic above) into the boot. They go through the hole covered by the black metal plate in the corner of the boot and run diagonally from there below the boot floor to the sender in the tank.

Hi Stuart

Is this the plate you are referring to (or similar)?

If so then my car does not have one, it just has a single grommeted hole for the fuel vent pipe from the tank.

I am going to look if there is a suitable hole I can use and may drill a small one if not to route them and seal it with a grommet.

That's the one I meant certainly.

Odd that yours doesn't have one - I've not seen a spider without but possibly yours is slightly earlier?

Hi Stuart

Mine is very early and is most likely a S1 modified to S2 as it does not have the dampers or the brackets for the engine and gearbox. So yes probably the reason why.

Peter

On the face lift cars the sender wires don't go into the boot. they run between the body and the tank.
