Start dates for Series 2 and S2FL Betas

Hi all,

Does anyone have definitive (ish) dates as to when the Series 2 and Series 2 facelift (S2FL) Betas started their production runs? I understand that nothing is totally clear cut as regards Lancia in he 70s, but ball park dates would be very helpful.

The series 2FL cars started appearing in late 78. I think and the ie cars etc. in 82? Alan (Rossocorsa) will have the definitive answer of course.

Announced in 75 (I think) but not sure when they were first built

S2FL started April 78 with some overlap of earlier series. I need to check press packs for S2 when I get home as there's no production info on pre 78 cars.
Really there is very little information and I always get the impression that Fiat want to forget the Beta range.

The series two press pack says publication third week of November 1975, the series 2 FL press pack is undated. The UK importers press packs for the injection cars are dated 1982 but they were introduced late presumably due to clearing old stock, I don't think that is have the proper press pack for these I only have for the volumex. Many items still to find!

Thanks for the very comprehensive replies... So the S2FL cars (the series I'm chiefly interested in) commenced production April 1978 (ish). Lancia's new model updates seemed somewhat erratic. Quite a big gap between the S2 announcement and the i.e. and VX models.
