I had this interesting email see below:

While doing an overland tour in Botswana during the last few weeks, we passed trough Maun. There, a particular car caught my attention. It had "Lite Bite" written on it, had dark (blue) paint, and (as far as I could see from the main road) it looked like a Lancia. Especially the "Lite Bite" tag rang a bell to me.

Back home, I looked back at the Botswana special of Top Gear (Season 10, episode 4), and my hunch was confirmed: this could have been Clarkson's car from that episode.

Some more Google'ing got me to your PhotoStream on http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonysphotos/1972992606/ , and via your profile I ended up at http://www.betaboyz.co.uk/ where your e-mail address was written.

Luckily we passed again at Maun, so I was able to take some pictures of the car. From a first impression of the pictures, somebody has been fixing up the car: the door got back, the hood is seated, and there is a front fender mounted. Maybe this car is getting prepared for a new life ;-)

I've put the pictures on my website http://www.bobus.net/webalbum/topgear/botswana/ . Feel free to link, but please do not mirror the images. Thanks!

Keep up the good work with your Beta website.

Most friendly regards,

Raf.

Interesting...

It was on eBay UK around October last year, being offered to export to UK.  Obviously never left...

Yes, starting bid was £3000 plus shipping.

Think someone was trying to cash-in though.  I did ask if they had proof of ownership or any documentation but there was no reply, so I guessed it was someone just having a giggle!
