I am sure this is here somewhere, but using search just keep going to dead ends. I need to give the body shop due to paint my car paint codes they can use or cross reference to modern paints for Azzuru Metalic

All help gratefully received.

Thank you

Alan

Thank you for the comprehensive code list Now I just need some owners of an S2 Beta Spyder in the original light blue metallic to post a picture of the paint code sticker inside the rear boot lid so I can be certain which of the numerous Azzuro codes is the right one!

I am hoping for a little more help.

Thank you

I presume you mean a facelift car? Azzurro portafino 132 is most likely the one. As far as I know they didn't do blue on early cars pre facelift these had unique zagato colours . There's an azzurro on montes but it's a different shade (142)

Hi Alan yes I mean a black interior Facelift Beta Spyder. Mine is on a Y plate but probably made in 1981.

I would just like a photo of the paint sticker from an actual car to add some confidence to the decision. I do not want an off colour dodgy Ford paint re-spray. There is just one small piece of the shell wit the OE paint in the engine bay, but probably no longer the right colour.

If you send me the chassis number I'll tell you when it was made, if it was made in 81 I  think it should have an exposed fuel filler

Actually I had a quick look and it looks like they made very few spiders that year but there is a gap in production figures from May after that in 82 all beta records are lumped together under the new vin number system

Difficult to photograph I don't think I've seen a beta colour chart showing 400 as an option. Eric send me your chassis number and I'll check when it was actually made of it has the filler with a door it might even be as early as 78/79!

Also not seen that paint brand before on a Beta. Eric can you not get the original patch scanned?

Maybe this http://www.lancia-beta.de/master-e.htm may help.
Go to basics and then the paint.

I think it was probably only an option for a short period I can't find a UK colour chart that shows it, I'll have another look tonight though. It will depend when Eric's car was built as to which exact shade it was made in.
azzurro really is just light blue so it's possible they could change the colour shade without amending the brochures

Hi Alan

I have sent you a PM with the chassis number and yes it does have the filler flap door. Another member sent me an email with photos showing 400F on his light blue metallic Beta Spyder.

Cheers

Hi Eric,

Sorry - only just seen this and the annoying thing is I was in France (where the Beta is) last week... I take it that this request is fairly urgent? I will probably be back in France during July or August if you can wait that long. Mine is Azzurro metallic, but I'm guilty of heresy and had mine resprayed in a Mercedes blue metallic...

Hi Graham

Thanks. I have now got 2 photos of the 400 / 400f paint code sticker so that is what I have given the bodyshop.

Ok Beta fans I now have a problem with the paint colour.

The body shop have had sample paint made up to the code and test sprayed and it is a greyer metallic blue than the many photos I have of my previous original colour light metallic blue S2 FL Beta Spyder.

I have no body work in the OE blue to get scanned for the right paint colour and as my previous car has been resprayed in another metallic blue colour I cannot ask for a scan of that one.

Please can I ask an owner of a light blue metallic S2FL Spyder or Coupe to loan me their petrol filler flap so I can get it scanned?

I am happy to pay a hefty deposit and all costs involved.

I am currently stuck until I can get the right paint colour made!

Thank you

Hi Eric. I could send you mine as I need to take it off to get some paint matched up as well. I need to do a small front scuttle repair before my windscreen gets replaced. How long will you need it for? It would be handy for me to know how close they get to it.
Let me know ASAP as I’m off to France Thursday evening and not back until Monday night.

Cheers Kev.
