I have to tighten the rings that hold the inserts in the front struts of my '78 spyder.
I bought them complete but dismantled from a friend who was going to fit them on the rear of his Stratos replica but took a different route eventually.
Anyway, they are threaded ring-type nuts with I think four notches that take some kind of pin tool.
What I need to know is what tool exactly am I looking for and what torque do I tighten them to (and how do I do it?) as I've only ever sen these rings with hex type faces which while larger than your average spanner, can be tightened with a large pipe wrench
All advice is welcomed before I make a mess of the job wih some improvised tool or other

I think you will be buying an impact socket of the right diameter then grinding it back to create 4 pins. Or maybe finding thick steel gas pipe grinding that and welding a socket to it.
