Gday, even though we had two cars to pick parts from we could only reuse one of the bonnet spring brackets parts that hold onto the car. See attached photo. Any ideas where we can find these or if anyone has thoughts on using substitute part?  |

There are used ones available on Ebay now in good shape.
They are listed as hood latch.

No from picture you'll see I have the metal loop. We are after a mounting bracket. As per photo missing right hand one but believe they are interchangeable

Ok, interesting. The ones on my car (early S2 pre f/l) are two piece comprising of a metal bracket and plastic bush/bearing for the metal hoop. because the retaining slot is in a slightly different place you cannot change between the two types.
The car I scrapped was also a pre f/l Spyder, but has the same brackets as you are after, so yes have one here in my (now grubby) hand....
Send me your address and will put in the mail for you. You are correct they are the same for both sides, i.e. interchangeable.
