Hi,
I have bought from a friend a brand new Lancia gearbox/diff unit. Itīs still in itīs wooden box. The part number on the box is 95720067. On the gearbox itself it is written FL 2000 18x65. Now my question is: Will this fit into my Beta 2000 spider (1982) I am restoring at the moment? The parts catalogue for the series 2 Betas show a different part number. But it looks very similar to the one I have dismantled from my car. So if it does not fit - which model is this gearbox for? Every help is welcome!
Best Regards, Martin

Hi Martin,

Yes it will fit as all the gearboxes in betas differ only in the final drive ratio. Your box is from 2000 i.e. version and have slightly longer ratios comparing to 2.0 carburretted engines (3,61 vs.3.76). That means your car with the new transmission will be slightly faster (max speeed) but for the cost of slightly less acceleration.
Would you mind attaching a picture of your boxed transmission? Just to have a looh how it looked as it was new, preferably with the designations.
Thanks.

Hi,

thanks for your answer! This really helps. I will make and add some detailed pics when I am in the garage the next time.

Best Regards
