1979 Beta Coupe

« on: November 03, 2015, 08:09:07 PM »

Hello again!  I am hoping some of you fine folk have experience and pictures with installing a three point seat belt in the back of a Coupe.  My 79 has lap belts only, and I have sourced good aftermarket "universal" seat belts.  I am hoping to get some lessons learned from anyone that has already done this.  Biggest two questions are:

Ideal top mounting position for the shoulder "hook" and ideal mounting location for the retractor down near the floor.

Thanks!

Not the best pics but should show you where they attach. Hope it helps.

All the anchor points are there (factory drilled and threaded) , you just need to uncover them and remove any grommets filling the holes.

Your fitting bolts will obviously need to be a matching thread. If the thread has gone on the lower points it's possible to fit retaining nuts via the rear wheel arch/under the car.

We got Wesco top mount retractor rear shoulder belts in!  A bit of fabbing for a mounting bracket, and voila!  I recommend their products if you need rear shoulder belts.
