Hi all
Sadly I don't think I can make the weekend. I've now got to work the weekends either side and need to show my face at home.
Really great that this event is going ahead. Sorry I can't be there.

Still not 100% certain if I can make this all weekend but looking hopeful for Saturday. Are there any rooms left or would it be wise to pack a tent just in case? Huh?
Looking fairly positive that I can make it. VX in for Mot on 6th so here's hoping!

Mot passed and car taxed!!!! Happy days Grin

I'm too preoccupied with sorting stuff out after being on my own again to make it, without a beta on the road I don't have enough incentive to make it this year but will try to do at least a bit of work on the vx in the hope of finishing it soon.

Today I have good news  Cheesy  and I have bad news   Sad  .....

I have received my Exhibitor's Pass for the Stokesley Rotary Club Classic Car show  Cheesy

Yesterday I was out in the Trevi but on the way back home it decided it had enough of its rear exhaust silencer so it discarded it!  Sad Angry  I can only find one for sale on eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANCIA-BETA-EXHAUST-SILENCER-/160947283644) but it looks worse than the one that fell off!  Undecided Sad

Would it be easier to get a stainless one made up?

That was/is the plan but with Betameeta just 2 weeks away and me being busy this coming weekend, I don't have the time to have one made and fitted. So I was hoping for a quick and cheap fix by getting a back box on eBay but it'll have to be a bodged fix I think....

Fuel tank off today and looked pretty good inside. Just a little surface rust but no clue as to where the gob of stuff came from that blocked the filter. Absolutely nothing loose detectable in the fuel we fetched out, so I have decided to shelve lining the tank, as there is no going back once you go there. Also, lining the fuel and vent lines where they run inside the tank may not  be that easy and they are perhaps the area with the most corrosion.

Sender wildly out as I was in the red and fetched almost 5 gallons out- no wonder I thought is was thirsty with the speed it goes down to halfway. I never tend to fill it anyway as I always seem to end up wearing some of it as it blows back.

So it's back in the morning, blow through the lines and put it all back together again.

Beta fuel gauges always seem to be wildly pessimistic. The warning light is more reliable IF it works.

Hi All

Well the BBC forecast for this weekend is so far good, not so hot, but dry and light winds, so fingers crossed....

Trevi exhaust re-attached (albeit with rear silncer at a rather strange angle  Undecided ) so Trevi is good to go  Cheesy

Just back from a fairly boozy weekend. I'll gather some detail tomorrow for an update post and PM some further detail to those confirmed attending.

Great to see the tenacious Betaboyz spirit evident here. Well done chaps and the first beers are on me!

It's looking likely I will have to miss this now. Bloody VX failed to start this morning so had to take my Alfa 166 and seeing as I'm down in Yorkshire, I won't get the chance to have a look prior to the weekend. Angry

I also may now be working but if not could still turn up in the Alfa.

As an aside, does anyone have an ignition switch with key for sale as I'm certain that's where the problem lies? Huh?

Not sure if Beta ignition switches are the same as Fiat 131 (look the same externally) but if they are then one from a Ducato 84 - 94 will fit.

Chaps

It looks like we could have 8 cars for this years BetaMeeta which, if it all comes together, will be a terrific effort for the Betaboyz and will certainly represent a significant combined travelling mileage in supporting a 'Northern' event.

For those of you who have indicated your attendance, you should have a private email in your inbox giving you all the detail you need; if not, let me know and I'll sort it out.

Finally, if you've not been in touch but you still wish to attend, the meeting place is the Stokesley Showground (Post code TS9 5JL) between 0930 and 1200hrs.  Just turn up if you wish but if you intend to join us for the evening and/or overnight accommodation you must contact me first.  You'd be most welcome.

Regards

Chris
