I have just taken out the instument binnacle to see why the battery gauge and oil temp gauge dont work, there is the tinyist bit of corrosion on all gauges, the oil temp gauge is just stuck and despite much freeing off is still pretty stiff the battery gauge was more corroded than any of the others so I'm guessing that's why is broken, does any on know are these fixable or do I need to find some replacments? The binnacle is a silver and yellow Veglia.  Thanks in advance.

I would replace the individual instruments, though yours sounds like a very early set. UK models didn't have the yellow dials?

Okay, thanks, it's originally an Italian registered car from 1974, a coupe which I neglected to mention!

I thought all series 1 cars (which this must be) had the white/yellow instruments or did they change midway?

I would look to get them repaired/refurbished, or look to buy in mainland Europe, probably Italy, have you tried Ebay.it and subito.it?

Sadly the awesome yellow dials were not popular at the time so were revised, I don't think any RHD cars had them not sure if they changed over the lhd cars prior to s2 or not will try to check parts book later

Good Evening!!Maybe the faces(the thin plate where the numbers are!) are interchangeable so you can use a newer instrument, just exchange the faces!

Hi,

Thanks for your replies,

Will have a look at ebay.it and subito.

I think silver/white are one and the same, it is very light and looks whiteish especially when in the binnicle with the backing light on.
I have looked at taking the front face off but could be very tricky as it seems to be pressed on will try that as a last resort!

Can they be dismantled ? I need a Rev counter if they can.

Hard to tell from the photo.

Never done it but I see no reason why not, Lancia supplied each instrument as individual spare parts. Could be quite fiddly to do though

Yes, the individual instruments come out. They are individually located in the casing with a couple of screws.

There is a chap on the LMC Forum currently selling various Beta instruments, including what look like some series 1 bits. Worth a look, under 'spares for sale'.

Already there!

I just had a fuel sender and rev counter that may or not suit mine.

There seem to be a set of berlina gauges among the stuff, which may interest Mark W?
