Refinishing subframes - Powdercoating vs. painting

I have two spare subframse and wishbones I'm refurbishing with the intention of installing them on the spiders over time and I'm leaning towards a painted finish rather than powdercoating as i feel there's less chance of a paint chip becoming a point of ingress for water and road salt over time.
I've seen the results of old powdercoated chassis components on some of my daily drivers over the years and it ain't pretty.
What do you think?

The best solution in my oppinion is hot dip zinc plating then powder coating. Should last long enough and does look fine.

That does seem like the way to go Lukas.
I'll price it and that will be a deciding factor!

Paint every time. If it gets chipped, which it will, it can always be sanded and touched up.

Certainly not powder coating alone. It will crack and moisture will creep in and rust it out in no time.

Right, I've pretty much ruled out powder coating as it seems to be the waste of time I suspected it too be.
Now for something completely different - Coil springs! Paint or powder coat?
I've seen people getting them powder coated but would that hold up against constant flexing, never mind stone and salt damage?
I recon not so maybe it's a rundant question

I get them powder coated, to short to say anything more that at the begining of using them look well.
