When I was breaking another HPE ('83) for spares I found a metal pressed cover which I reckon is intended to protect the connection points between brake tubes and flexi hoses. I was wondered because I have never seen them in any other beta including my HPE. In the mentioned broken HPE the cover was only on left side, probably on the right side is just incidentally missing. My question is were the covers mounted as a standard, and also on both sides?

Ive not seen that before either.. Do you have any photos.?. Sounds like someone was being cautious and knocked them up to fit.. not a bad idea.

my memory on the brake fittings isn't good (car has been off road for 12 years now...) but I couldn't spot this in the parts books. Sometimes items are not listed on the page where expected. Early cars did have more guards than those fitted with wheelarch liners I suspect it is off a s1 or s2 car or possibly a market specific modification, perhaps Matt will be able to comment?

I've seen those on a Delta, Dedra Integrales, so wonder if someone popped one on their Beta.

My S1 definitely does not have them nor my S2/FL, I've not seen them on any Beta that I've either owned or dismantled (probably 20+ over past 25 years) when I was in UK.

Possibly a market specific mod, is there a P/N on it?

Maybe Lancia were fitting to the last of the Betas just before the launch of the Delta?
