Has anyone done anything non-standard with the B-pillar extractor vent grille? Like, have it chromed or painted body color? Maybe someone has made their own custom grille? Seems like every single Spyder/Zagato has a black grille and that is it. Wouldn't want it too flashy but some ideas maybe: Alfa 8C. Not on the pillar but I like the metal-looking frame with the mesh grille. Lotus Elan. Not turned the right way but simple and clean. BMW E12

Something like this. I like the look but am not sure I am happy with the execution. Any opinions?

The series 1 coupe had chrome extractor vents so I don't see why the Spider should not. The only thing I'd say is it depends on the body colour. IMHO it would look awful on a white car, but good on a darker colour.

Frost Chrome finish paint is very good, providing you follow the instruction to the letter.
It's an aerosol can delivery, I've tested it on several plastic trim section for the Beta and I am mightily impressed with the finished result.

This was my first thought having a white car.... Also on the Spyder you are very close to the hood and targa so the black works better I think on a light coloured car, on dark colour, then yes will make it stand out where it would be lost eg on the blue one above. Peter Peter

On my Spider, I cut some fine aluminium mesh and secured it behind the black grill using the original mounting screws. Not too OTT in my opinion and still keeps the black grill.

Thanks for the positive comments. If I remember correctly I bought the mesh from Halfords, pretty sure it was a mesh used for bodywork repairs prior to filling. I found that it was the best to use as it was thin and hence didn't make the black grill protrude from the body once fitted. Hope this helps

Sorry to be a pain but does anybody know if Pee Vee's car is an original Lancia colour? If so do you know the name and paint code.
Many thanks Tim

Lancia #121 Blu Lancia
Mine is Sherwin-Williams brand. I have nothing to compare it to for accuracy other than photographs. Lord Blue is also very close but more of a purple hue than Blu Lancia.
