The one actually fitted to my car has the curved and elongated inlet pipe as per the picture in the parts catalogue, so it will be interesting to see how well my spare functions when I fit it as part of my planned Spring overhaul!
Fitted this pump last week (picture above) and I have to say it doesn't fit as well as the original with the curved inlet pipe. The inlet on the new pump is very close to the bottom of the inlet manifold, to the point where you have to fit the pipe before tightening the pump onto the crank case.
All working fine once fitted and the fuel pipe doesn't actually foul the manifold. However, if you are buying a new pump I would go for the OE one with the curved inlet.
(Also undertook my most outstanding job at the same time; replacing the oil pressure gauge sender. It's nice to see the pointer sat in the middle of the gauge for the first time in several years!)
