My project (in Hungary) is running again since this October - after finishing the Pt Cruiser overhaul of my wife ( https://picasaweb.google.com/103220166446302840291/ChryslerPTCruiserProject )

Could anyone help me by showing a photo of the original lifiting points? Mine were modified, and I would like to restore the factory style points.

Dear Andrew,
it never ceases to amaze me the lengths people go to in order to restore these great cars! It looks like you have found a few more places that I did not know rusted. This kind of reminds me of the photos I took of my Fiat 128 3P Rally project I had back in the 1990's, same colour, same problems etc. It makes me look like a part time Lancia fan.

Hi Andrew,
i will take some photos this coming weekend during the day so i can get proper light on the subject (its dark by 4.30pm here now  Sad and i'm also up very early) .... Not that the originals are good mind. i have the right size bits of wood now to spread the load, as once years ago i lifted the back straight from the jack point and im sure the sill was effected under the weight.

Thanks  Wink - car restoration became my main hobby in the last few years. I want to get the Hungarian classic car qualification for my Beta , so I need to work nice. Last month I started also a panel beater course to get official panel beater qualificaton (anyway I am an economist, but I prefer the manual work - that causes much less stress Roll Eyes).

After my Beta project I would like to continue my new hobby - the next project may be a Fulvia Coupe, Flavia Coupe, Montecarlo or Fiat Dino and later maybe car restoration can be my main job. First I must make references.

I think that those lifting points are misunderstood someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought they were purely there for carrying the body around in production I wouldn't use them to jack a car up. Entirely up to you but I wouldn't worry about them the original style are mini rust traps anyway.

i was changing a flat in a hurry and just put the jack straight under there. i must of missed seeing the slot in the centre of the sill. Been a lot more careful since.!

Maybe my Beta project seems to be dead, but it runs in the background. I bought a Fiat Punto Cabrio for everyday use in January and I needed to do some work on it:
