Does anyone know if these are the same pattern as the HPE shock inserts? I am just about to take mine apart, and Mark from Betaboyz tells me that I have Belina struts on my HPE. If so, does this alter anything like ride height or rebound characteristics  etc.
If my old Belina struts are past it I might be interested.
Thanks Guys.

HPE uses coupé/spider struts on front, berlina sized struts on rear. I think that berlina struts would be too tall at the front but I'd have to check the dimensions when at home to confirm.

Yes, They would be way too tall for the front - I'll post up a picture of the front and rear inserts for Coupe/HPE/Spider.  Will also add dimensions.

Have to attend a meeting but after that...

Shorter front insert is 320mm  x 38mm (the blue body section only)

Longer rear insert is 445mm x 45mm (again the blue body section only)

Part number on the Koni box is 82P1925, hopefully someone can confirm which vehicle they fit.
The part number on my first post was given to me by the guy who I bought them from.

Got my hands on the inserts today, good news they match the dimensions that Matt listed.
Will be fitting them to the spider along with the new uprated/lowered springs.

Dear Matt,
thanks for the picture of the strut inserts I require. Whilst at Mark's Barn this weekend he kindly helped me out with some front Sachs shocks for my HPE, but I don't know if I can afford some new rear KYB inserts. Do you or anyone else have a pair that will fit my Sachs rear bodies (that Mark says are fine for re-use)? Or failing that a pair of rear shocks complete either NOS or low mileage?
All the best,
Chas and Anne. Smiley

To stop this going off topic can you post your requirement in the Wanted section please?  Makes it easier for everyone to find :-)

Cheers

Please can I make a request for the OE number for a 1984 HPE Volumex rear shock absorber assy. You have informed me that they are the same as the Berlina on the rear, (but the front is the same as the Coupe).
I am trying to track down a pair of replacements and this will be very helpful.
Thanks guys.

82395815 this is for S2FL2 HPE they are same dimensions as berlina. I checked the trevi  microfiche and trevi rear dampers have the same part number

I am not 100% confident on this but sachs part number is probably 110-190

http://www.piecesauto.com/fr/Jeu+de+2+amortisseurs+avant+ou+arriere/SACHS+110190.854.7739.7598.html#montage

I found the following cross references on line (which may or may not be right)

ALINQUANT: 548010
BILSTEIN: P 36-0093
GABRIEL: 44880
Havam: KS3190
HELLA: A 548 010
Japca: 167399
KONI: 86 W-2118 - 86-2118 - 87 W-2118 - 87-2118
MONROE: MG-946 - MR-946
SACHS: 11 1500 110 190

Dear Rossocorsa,
thanks for that info, it was very useful. However I do not recognise the OE number as one that I have been quoted, (A supplier gave me about 7 similar numbers but none that match up:
OE Number:
82301005
82346277
82341690
(These poss refer to the front shock and the equivelent KYB number is 365009).

OE number:
82287222
82346273
82315779
82341685
(These poss refer to the REAR shock and the equivelent number KYB number is 365010).

What do you think?
I have checked the Sachs front and rear numbers on my units and the numbers you quote match up. ie:
Front HPE: 16 1500 110 191.
Rear  HPE: 11 1500 110 190.

So the final question is which if any of the "OE" numbers quoted to me are correct do I actually need to order?

Thanks once again for your assistance.
Best,

OE Number:
82301005berlina s1 complete strut front s2 berlina 1.3 front

82341690 s2 berlina front

(These poss refer to the front shock and the equivelent KYB number is 365009).
OE number:

Best,
Chas and Anne. Huh?

from S2FL onwards struts were sealed units, very early S1 coupe units appear to have smaller diameter inserts than later cars

above part numbers are all for complete struts I've got a bit cross eyed with all these and no time to double check them all so use this list with caution in case of typos or transpositions!

no one makes these units any more so it's a case of watching ebay like a hawk
