What interest is there out there for a bulk purchase of windscreens from the likes of Pilkington.
I have spent this week contacting windscreen suppliers for a non-bonded screen for my 2000ie, without any luck. Beta screens appear to be as rare now as rocking horse poo !
An order for say 10 screens may get them at a sensible price.
So, what interest ?

David.

David,

I spoke with pilkington glass (Ilse of Sheppey) there is no need for bulk buys as they will make one to order for £130 which I think is an absolute bargain!

I am getting mine through First Direct  auto glass in Basingstoke, my order will be placed on Monday so if your quick and speak to Mark the owner of First Direct you should be able to get one done at the same time.

There is a price i was quoted direct from pilkingtons in the Windscreens thread under Specialist Lancia Parts Suppliers section of this forum, but I decided to get mine through First Direct because they will store my screen and I don't have to drive down and collect it!

It's a 4 - 6 week lead time.

Matt, thanks for the reply, is your screen a rubber surround or a bonded one ? As I am up in Dundee then I think I will approach my local windscreen fitter and get him to speak to Pilkington and arrange delivery. I would still like to know if there is any interest in my suggestion though.

I think there is a bit of an issue on Beta with demand vs variations you have plain glass, tinted (in more than one tint variation for instance volumex is bronze tint) some with a tinted band at the top some without and then bonded vs rubber seal from that point of view making 10 screens doesn't make a lot of sense

My screen is a bonded version.  And is described as a green on green, it has a very very light green tint and a green sun-strip across the top.

Hope this has been of some help.

I think the majority of coupés except for VX are either plain glass or green tint like yours
