Dear all,
I have just completed the booking process for the Lancia beta forum. My wife Catherine and I will come from Paris (France) with a Beta 2000 I.E. that I bought in 1983 (brand new). It will be a long trip to join you (nearly 400 miles). We will cross the channel on Friday morning and drive to Norwich where we expect to show up in the afternoon.
It would be good to have some support in case of failure   ( just in case, the car is running well as of today) like address of repair stations able to fix the beta between Folkestone and Norwich

Hoping having a great  event and meet other fanatics

Best Regards

Claude

Mark

I suspect giving 2 more weeks to find the deposit will help as it gets people past the next pay day. It is a fantastic venue and Amanda has a good record for sorting out great events so I hope we can see a bit more action from the Beta owners on this. I must be honest the deadline for a deposit caught me by surprise.

Hi All

13 rooms now confirmed (25 peeps!) for the event and 7 still remaining. Apologies it has all been such short notice but due to the amount of organising the hotel has to do in arranging Gala food, the band, conference rooms etc, their deadline for deposits is next Wednesday 29th February. I asked for deposits for tomorrow due to spending the weekend sending out receipts and clearing cheque deposits. If anyone wants to do a last minute bank transfer then please let me know asap by e-mail elmtreehomes@hotmail.co.uk or phone me on 01823 461472 or 07765 523 656.
If anyone would consider sharing a twin room this would reduce the cost of the weekend down to £138.75 each. Just a thought! Any questions or concerns please do not hestitate to contact me. This event is promising to be a really good celebration of this great model.
Details for joining for the day will be released later next week.
Hope you can beg, borrow or steal the deposits!

Cheers

Is it possible to have a more precise agenda for Sunday?

Sunday
Full English Breakfast
Use of function room for speakers, prizes for best cars, thank you for coming etc
Coffee, tea

In order to organize our trip back to Paris (400 miles), I'd like to know when the event is supposed to finish, so I can plan the trip to Paris in one or two parts.

I suppose this information will also  be usefull to those having a long trip back home.

Best regards

Claude

Hi Claud

After a busy Saturday/evening Sunday's going to be a relaxed day, we appreciate some people have a long journey home, and anticipate to be finished around or just after lunch time.

Regards
Tony

All,

Please be aware that there is a large British Super Bikes motorcycle event taking place at Snetterton on 25-27 May, with 50,000 spectators anticipated to attend.

Please factor this in when planning your route and ETA.

attached is a scanned map showing the location of Snetterton/our hotel

looking at the map it looks like we need to keep well away from the A11, those traveling from the south I guess the best route would be the A140 ?
could someone with local knowledge please advise

thanks!

The A11 is dualled with the exception of Mildenhall to Thetford and barring incidents it will be running pretty free apart from that bit, sadly on the single carriageway bit very long queues are the norm Northbound on a Friday and Southbound on a Sunday. So on a Friday I wouldn't use the A11 anyway.

Form the South & SouthWest

A14 to Bury St.Edmunds
A143 to Diss
A140 to the Hotel

From South East (ie Essex, Kent & maybe Sussex, also anyone arriving from Harwich)
A12 to Ipswich
A14 to J51
A140 to the hotel.

Hope that helps

Hi

Just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone who is going a very enjoyable weekend, sadly my Spider is still in bits and I had a long planned holiday booked, so could not attend.

Hope to catch up with some of you later in the year.

It's the A143 you need to take from the BSE junction on the A14 to Diss. The A134 will take you to Thetford and the A11.

Having lived in Bury for twenty years you'd think I'd get it right wouldn't you? You're spot on of course. Post edited.

Sorry for any confusion.
