I'm looking for recommendations for gear lube for my manual trans beta.Has anyone used any of the redline products? My owners manual has a wide range from 40w to 90w.

if it is still available go for the original equipment lube or nearest fiat lubricants equivalent tutela zc90 80w-90, if you can't get fiat lubricant research very carefully as the cause of a poor gearchange in Betas is in many cases due to incorrect lubricant. Betas require a non-EP type oil that is GL-3 as I understand it and you should not use a GL-4 or GL-5

I can confirm that Redline 75w 90NS is a good choice for Beta /Montecarlo boxes without any of the high sulphur content that GL5 oils have that can attack the brass synchronizers in our gearboxes. It gives excellent low temperature shift properties and has worked well in my 200BHP Montecarlo and also in Geoff Ward's racing Montecarlo.

I am ex Oil company Automotive Lubricants division so I choose with care and the previous advice is well based so note it is the NS version you want.

About a year maybe 18 months ago I switched to 75w / 90 - never looked back  Smiley

I am very pleased with the smoothness of gearchange compared with before.
