Hi guys, looking to put a nice ipod stereo in the coupe. Any opinions on makes that fit? Main question is really where to place the speakers. Not looking to go crazy with them, but 4 would be nice.
Just not sure where the best place is for ease of fitting and sound quality. Thanks.

Re:Speakers

The obvious place is to to put two in the front in the footwell pockets down where the bonnet release handles are.  These are standard sized speakers and replacement should be very straight forward. A good quality pair should suffice IMO, but its a personal choice I guess.

Most 4 speaker set ups I have seen have the rears mounted in the rear "door cards" but that means cutting holes in the trim, not sure if you want to go down that route I wouldn't myself but thats just me.  You have to be careful of placement because there are bracing cross members that can foul the rear of the speaker.  (I've seen those cross braces simply cut out  Shocked  Roll Eyes Shocked

Can't give any advice on iPod stereo's as I have a period radio fitted to mine!  I know that you can get period stereos modified so that they can take an iPod connection so you get the best of both worlds. (Seen those at about circa £150)

Thanks Gents.
Due to work on the car carried out before I bought it, the interior will be non-standard so I'm not adverse to 'open panel surgery' although I draw the line at removing the cross bracing. I'll see if I can get some tweeters in there and go for bass in the footwell.
I have another car that will be 100% factory so no chaving that one up!
Aldi have a branch close by so will keep my eyes open! Cheers!

I've used an Aldi radio in the Trevi and it's a great unit; I can certainly recommend it. It doesn't look too 'modern' and out of place in the Trevi either. Details here http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=395.msg1574#msg1574
