As I have to rebiuld my block, I am thinking of putting 1800 pistons in my 2ltr to up the compression.
I am doing this on a low budget so am looking for used ones.

ok good idea but will 1800 pistons fit in a 2000 because the diameter of the
cylinder maybe bigger

Bore is the same - 84.0mm. Easy way to up compression ratio is to use 1800 or 1600 pistons in a 2 litre - BUT pistons are getting very scarce now at reasonable prices.

european spec 1800's ran a much higher compression (9.8:1 if I remember right), as far as I can see from the tech data this was partially down to the design of piston used

You might find 1600 pistons easier to find not such high compression as 1800 but higher than flat top 2000 you maybe don't want to go too high with modern crap petrol!
