Where to begin?
This being my first NEC show and the first time my car has been on any kind of official display the whole weekend can only be described as absolutely brilliant.
The drive up in the Beta was glorious, apart from the rain once we left Warwick Services, where Tony and I met up with Jason. (Sorry about the confusion
)
The actual days spent on the stand talking to the public turned out to be a bit of a surprise for me, I was rather expecting more talk of the "rust problem blah blah blah" but actually it was not as bad as i thought it would be. I met many many people who came up with big smiles, all gushing about how they had one of these cars in past years. The focus of the vast majority was what a brilliant car the Beta was to drive rather than its corrosion problems. The positive reception was also proved by the number of people snapping away taking pictures of the quality cars on thge stand so congrats to Pete, Jason and Paul on that one!
Thanks also have to go to John Bower and Tony for their organisational skills and good humour throughout the weekend.
There was a fantastic team spirit throughout, especially when the MonteCarlo Consortium boys got involved, much merriment was had and there was even the odd beer and late night. Hence the particularly good hangovers the next morning!
If you have ever thought about showing your car at this or any other event then I would highly recommend it.
I'm really looking forward to seeing all the pictures (especially the ones that Tony took on the Sunday
)
