Hi all,
The indicators on my 1980 Spyder 2.0 are so dim, they are pretty much invisible during daylight hours, which obviously is a problem.
I have read elsewhere on the forum that the hazard warning switch contacts may sometimes be to blame for this and I would also say that the "crown" earths underneath the headlights in the engine bay are also quite dirty.
However, the indicators are universally dim and sluggish in operation - the speed of operation is ok but the bulbs slowly light up and dim, rather than smart "on-off" operation.

Any advice gratefully accepted.

Chris,
As mentioned on the other thread, earths are often an issue but remember that 12v
feeds carry the same current. Your first go-to is the origin, so check connections around
the steering column first, test for true voltage at the
relevant fuse (mine currently suffers from 10.4v, similar issues to yours)

I hope to cure my issues by rewiring, and simultaneously removing the hazard switch issues.

Hi Chris

If they are all dim, ie both sides, then maybe not earth, but as per Nigel it is most likely a low voltage to the flasher unit or iffy unit itself. I would start at the fuse and work my way forwards using a meter testing for decent voltage (12V without engine running, more if running).
