Hi folks

need to ask your guys help again

as my vx coupe is being preped and sprayed at the moment i am trying to get some of the trims ready.

can you help with any of the following questions.

1. can you buy the little white clips that hold the trim on the wings and doors as i managed to snap most of them taking them  off.
2. any body know how to take of the grill on the bonnet without snapping the locking clips. i broke them of the bonnet being sprayed but have a donar bonnet that i will be taking the replacement off.
3. Finaly anybody know what the paint spec is for the chrome trim that goes round the gutter rails and around the windows as mine has been polished that much that it is back to the chrome.

Thanks too you all and if anybody wants any spares for a vx please ask as i have a complete donar car that i will be breaking once mine has been put back together.
to all the guys responsible for making this forum thanks and can someone please tell me how i a make a donation to helpwith this forum?

regards

Hi Simon,

may be corrected but I think the "X" clips are still available from fiat

bonnet grille, I usually use a small hook to slowly lift up the star clips one point at a time
takes a bit of patience.

Oh, and when you're all finished I'm still looking for headlamp mounting plates.

Simon,

I don't know what the actual spec for the gutter paint is, however my HPE was in a similar state to your coupe, I used Hammerite Satin Black spray and it came up a treat to the roof gutters, windscreen surround, tailgate surround and side window surrounds and also to the sills too. I used a primer on the off side first, but did not bother on the passenger side and if anything the passenger side has come up better.

Spraying the trim is on my list, thanks for the tip for which paint to use, and no primer either, great!!
