My ideas are coming together to propose a North Yorkshire BetaMeeta for 2015 but I'll go out for comment before I distill things further:

-    Weekend of 20/21 June.

-    Start in Stokesley (a couple of miles north of the North York Moors and about 10 miles to the south of Teeside).  The annual Stokesley Classic Car Show takes place on the Saturday.  It's a low key charity event with about 200 cars; they're a friendly bunch and welcome use of their venue as a meeting point.  The show runs from 10am to 4pm: whilst they like the main show cars to be in position for 9.30, for clubs they tend to group cars to one side and you can pretty much arrive as you please which makes it easy for those from the greatest distances.  A bunch of Beta's would certainly be welcome and Stokesley is a pleasant market town with food and coffee.

-     Late pm - Drive coast/Moors.

-     Overnight accommodation option of holiday cottage and camping field at the Family's farm near Chop Gate if you don't want the cost of B&B.  Chop Gate is about 6 miles south of Stokesley after a nice climb up into the National Park.  Undercover car storage/repair space in a barn if needed.  BBQ?  Beer?

-     Sunday - drive over the Moors.  Include B1257 to Helmsley, Pickering for North York Moors Railway then possibly out to Whitby and back over the Moors towards Stokesley?

Great idea, don't think I can make the weekend but might manage the Saturday, unfortunately no progress at all with the beta so in the modern instead.

Chaps

Early feedback is good and, as far as I'm concerned, there's enough interest to make this a goer.

I'll probably try and transfer the thread to the 'Events 2015' folder in a few days then I'll build in some detail and maps to PM those attending.  In the mean time, please continue to share your interest, intent, thoughts, requests etc.

I know it's an effort to drive hundreds of miles for an event like this but your car will love it and you'll love the Yorkshire roads as well as the opportunity of putting faces to names (for those who have not met).  Come on... the more the merrier!
