Ok, am losing my sense of humour now and this is probably going to be laughably simple.

I have previously watched someone take the top off the carb to clean the float chamber, but how do you disconnect the little choke lever? I am almost certain that you don't take the tiny split pin out?

Any ideas?

Sorry Mark, missed this post.

When I stripped my carb last year I'm pretty sure I did take the tiny pin out, but then I've a feeling that once the top was off I realised it would have come off with the pin in situ?

Same frustration here Neil - even my mechanic says He could do it with the carb in front of him, but can't remember to tell me over the phone! Got her running ok anyway with a clean of the jets and a new fuel filter - must have run the tank a bit too low on out tour round. Have put a fresh filter in the boot kit too.

I think it's one of those knacks that's not obvious until you have done it.

I was also worried about where to get a new pin from.
