Whilst mucking about with the Coupe today, I noticed that turning the wheels from side to side had a higher resistance than I remember  (car on axle stands with steering rod disconnected).

I take it...that there is a thrust washer as a bearing surface? and are these prone to binding? also is this a quick fix...clean and re-pack with grease?

Hmm..

You'll need the struts out to access the top mounts, if you are lucky the bearings will just need a clean and lube but they do fail and are difficult to find although they do turn up on eBay in Italy fairly often

Not sure if these are the correct ones for the front struts?

It's been covered on here before but Compbrakes Beta top mounts are not a good way to go, I bought a set and they were completely wrong fitting for a Beta, took months to arrive, poor customer service and I know from my HF3000 days that they wore out rather quickly.

Looks like my concerns were in my head...stripped the strut tonight and found the thrust bearing and surfaces in very good condition.  Cleaned and re-packed with grease.

Thanks lads.
