I've removed the in-board CV joint in order to replace both inner and outer boots. There is a washer that goes on the splined shaft before the CV joint; Haynes and the Fiat manuals just describe it as a washer, but mine are dished.
1. is this correct
2. if so, which way should it face?
TIA

Steve

The dome should be towards the joint it is just putting some spring load into the assembly to stop it shuttling on the spline.
