I want to bring my 1979 Beta Zagato to European specs by removing the complex emissions and EGR parts. I am starting with the carb and intake.
Does anyone have experience with this and can you help me. What parts can I safely remove. Is there a guide maybe?
Help is very much appreciated.

Hi

Not aware of any guide, however the original carb setup on EU cars is very simple and essentially means you remove all the extraneous pipes etc. I think the exhaust manifold may also be different.

However one point to consider is that my understanding is that the US spec cars had lower compression ratios than EU spec ones which may affect the replacement carb jetting needs.

First off I would study photos of EU engines and/or visit someone who has one so you can see what is needed.
