Morning all, I have 4 rocker switches on the dashboard. Hazard switch clearly labelled and working. Second switch I'm using for cooling fan, however last 2 are puzzling.

Switch on left illuminates fog light warning light on dashboard, however I no fog lights fitted. Switch on right with blue, grey & red wires. . . well I can't find what it does. Both have same 3 pin connector so it could be the other fog lights, and the warning bulb on the dash is blown. Graphics on both are absent so no clues there.

I'd just like to check what the one on the right is for as I'll either retro-fit fog lights (not required for MOT), or replace with electric window switches as I aim to retro fit them at some point.

Any suggestions welcome

Hi John,
I've checked both my wiring diagrams, Haynes, and a much later version
for IE/VX but it seems I've a gap where
your car fits. No wire colours match yours in my diagrams.
However, my rear fogs are fed by a blue wire at the back, along with a black for earth.
So that may be a clue.
That blue wire appears on the right side by the rear lamp cluster. Check for that,
and perhaps rig up a test light. The rear fogs should be factory wired to only work
on dipped beam, as is mine.

I think it's normal for an unused fog switch to illuminate the dash bulb even with no lamps installed.

I hope this doesn't confuse even further!

Regards, Nigel

could one be for the heated rear window? My Spider has a switch for that although it does not have one of course. But when the switch is activated, the light on the dashboard for the heated rear window comes on  Cheesy

Based on that and the previous comment it could also be a switch for the electric sunroof as I don't have one of those either!
