Hi

Something which has got me wondering. What is the typical width of the trim strip which runs around the windscreen to retain the roof lining and A pillar trim? I do not have the original and although what I ha e used appears to make sense with fitting of a bonded windscreen, I do wonder if I have used one which is too wide.

Hi Peter,

I can't measure as my screen is in, but judging by the photo in your wiper thread
[good work btw] that trim you've used will be fine.
It may even be narrower than OE.
Pics for reference if they help.

Hi Nigel

You look like you have the removable rubber seal on your screen?

It looks to be completely different to the bonded method, so any measurements would not be useful sadly.

Thanks for trying!

Is my screen any more suitable?

Pics attached.

Just measured mine and it is approx 13mm, so not too far away from Mark’s which will be original. So going to leave as is, I think there is enough space to allow the bonding material to attach and seal around the metal to give a good waterproof seal.

No problem Peter I should have stated it’s 10mm overall as close as you can measure in case the photo wasn’t legible .
