As a past owner back in the 80s of two red Beta 2L Coupes, I'm now looking to buy another to satisfy my nostalgic pangs.
Unfortunately I have a left knee injury and using a clutch pedal can be troublesome for me unless servo assisted where that is feasible.
Are there any known ways of adding some sort of assist to the clutch pedal on a manual Beta Coupe to lessen the load?
I guess the alternative would be an auto but I doubt any of these for sale.
Thanks, Roy

I've no idea if it is easly achievable but maybe a conversion to hydraulic action would help?

Yes had the Beta clutches not been cable operated, adding a remote servo to a hydraulic system would be a relatively easy option. Something I've done before on an old Triumph.

I just wondered if anyone in the club had seen such an upgrade done before.

I don't know if anyone but it must be possible,I think the gearbox is similar to some later cars that will have had hydraulic clutch operation

Hi, the montecarlo has a hydraulic clutch , same gearbox though different ratios, so should be possible, although still not particularly light, I would first get to sit in a montecarlo and see how it feels.

Automatics do pop up for sale now and then, though I would guess they are well into single figures now.

So if a Montecarlo uses a hydraulic clutch system, even if as standard its not too light, the addition of a remote servo to that hydraulic circuit would do the job.
Gives me some hope its still an option as a retrofit
