Title: Integrale Radiator In VX? Post by: WestonE on December 06, 2010, 12:47:24 PM Guys
Has anyone used a Integrale Radiator in a VX or IE? I am particularly interested if you have also used a DCOE on the front of the Supercharger, but I really want to know if it will fit using the IE/ VX mounting points? I need a narrower radiator with hoses picked up on the left able to handle a serious power increase. Thanks Eric Title: Re: Integrale Radiator In VX? Post by: rachaeljf on December 06, 2010, 04:18:04 PM I'm looking at a Fiat Punto 1.8 HGT radiator to go in my 1984 HPE. It seems to be about the right dimensions, about 640 x 316 mm with a 32 mm thick core. Hose outlets are both on the LHS. Punto 1.9 JTD rad is similar. I was looking for a reasonably cheap and available rad to handle something over 200 bhp.

a modern triple core. (most original are two core lines) £120 all in. Title: Re: Integrale Radiator In VX? Post by: MattNoVAT on December 06, 2010, 08:13:47 PM Having the original re-cored with triple cores should be adequate for your needs Eric, the Hawk Stratos conversion uses an X/19 rad (1300 or 1500cc) and re-cored to be used with a 200 bhp+ Alfa 3000cc 12 / 24v engine. My first Hawk never had any cooling issues whether sitting in traffic for 90 minutes or giving it the beans on a track.

Post by: rossocorsa on December 07, 2010, 12:17:27 AM I had a HPE VX with a dcoe fitted that I broke for spares I belive it had a VW radiator form some sort of Passat (probably so old there'll be none left in scrappies now!) TBH I did think it was still cramped and inelegant
Title: Re: Integrale Radiator In VX? Post by: Grundo on December 07, 2010, 03:02:39 AM I used a Renault Fuego Turbo radiator - found one new and quite cheap. All the same fittings with an extra pass in the radiator and narrow enough for the DCOE. Only thing was the header tank small overflow pipe was on the wrong side but otgherwise great.

Title: Re: Integrale Radiator In VX? Post by: rossocorsa on August 15, 2014, 09:36:16 PM I don't know of a substitute but just to comment that late build betas including volumex had an aluminium cored rad with both hoses on the same side, also as this option was more efficient the vx no longer needed a larger rad.
