Title: Handbrake warning light Post by: hongkongphooey on November 17, 2010, 08:27:48 PM Is it supposed to flash through the indicator relay?
Title: Re: Handbrake warning light Post by: MattNoVAT on November 17, 2010, 08:32:39 PM Hi,
Yes it should - although when mine failed I had to use a Delta indicator relay so it no longer flashes! Title: Re: Handbrake warning light Post by: thecolonel on November 17, 2010, 08:56:41 PM Up under/ to the right of the the steering column there should be a two pin flasher unit,
small silver/alloy can (just over 1 inch diameter). This is the handbrake flasher unit (does not normally use the standard indicator or Haz unit) the unit runs at about 2w , anything greater and there would not be enough draw to flash the lamp. Thanks :) Title: Re: Handbrake warning light Post by: WestonE on November 26, 2010, 07:18:51 PM Hong Kong
I re-wired mine without the flasher so it just lit the light as it drove me mad as well! Cheers Eric Title: Re: Handbrake warning light Post by: cheeky monkey on November 26, 2010, 10:13:40 PM disconnected my hazard warning light. the indicators have been better since
Title: Re: Handbrake warning light Post by: hongkongphooey on November 27, 2010, 04:51:51 PM I'm glad i'm not the only one it annoys! Might have to by-pass it then....My indicators aren't the best either so hopefully it'll help them too!
Title: Re: Handbrake warning light Post by: cheeky monkey on November 27, 2010, 06:57:42 PM disconnected my hazard warning light. the indicators have been better since by the way, i meant the handbrake warning light not the hazard. You soon get used to not hearing or seeing the warning light flashing. |
