and run that to a switch, the other terminal from the switch goes to earth. Title: Re: Fan over ride switch Post by: redvxcoupe on August 14, 2010, 12:05:49 AM Think lanciamad has done this in his hpe....
You should def use a relay, if not, too much current is going through the switch Title: Re: Fan over ride switch Post by: thecolonel on August 14, 2010, 12:50:50 PM Agreed, relay is always the best option.
Get a standard 4 pin relay 30 to earth 87 to fan earth wire 85 to + 12v 86 to switch switch to earth Geoff Title: Re: Fan over ride switch Post by: lanciamad on August 15, 2010, 01:25:50 PM Relay is deffinately the way to go, if you buy one in packaging they more than likely tell you which wires connect to the relay anyway. Just to clarify, mine's not currently an over-ride switch, but an additional switch for the secondary fan i've got fitted.

This rerouted the high-current circuits for lighting (fan too with dash override) away from the main fusebox, with an array of relays in a secondary fusebox in the position where Lancia fitted its own secondary fuxebox in the Automatic Betas.

Contact Darren Cooksey (Montecarlo Consortium Member Sec) before Gaydon and get him to bring the comprehensive wiring diagram he has for this including a light to tell you the fans are operating. Eric |
