Title: Re: beta oddities Post by: TreviDash on January 07, 2010, 01:03:36 AM Quote I think you were thinking about this... Not necessarily.... The blue Felber is S2, whereas the Felber in Brian Long's book is a converted S1 - even though he states it was for 1976 which was well into S2 by then. Mizar was shown in 1974, so Felber were an appointed firm of the time. Maybe it was in-house, or maybe it was just an earlier hatch treatment on that S1 done by Felber, or another firm? Either way, does it survive? I rather suspect there will be no documentation or history for this car it's the only picture I've seen with the hatch up,I think all the beta berlina support cars would probably have been this format as you'd struggle to get tyres in a normal beta!!

At present the Gallery areas are restricted to: Members Cars Events photos Members Project Cars BetaBoyz Projects Technical related photos / diagrams Maybe we could have two additions? Beta Image Chronicles Beta Oddities (or a better word) Title: Re: beta oddities Post by: rossocorsa on January 08, 2010, 09:22:30 PM maybe......I just started it off because I remembered that Beta hatch picture only thing is there's no dialogue in the gallery
Title: Re: beta oddities Post by: TreviDash on January 09, 2010, 03:43:45 PM Why is there no dialogue in the Gallery?
Every image has a Comments field at the bottom. Title: Re: beta oddities Post by: rossocorsa on January 09, 2010, 05:08:09 PM well I suppose so but it doesn't really flow like a discussion thread, you are right though that a beta orientated general gallery slot would be good, I attempted to do some in my album on lancisti a while back but lost enthusiasm
Title: Re: beta oddities Post by: TonyLanciaBeta on January 09, 2010, 07:25:16 PM how about uploading them into the gallery, then post linking the photo from the gallery

Be nice if people, posted pics. in the gallery, and then started a post in the members cars section, http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=60.0 (http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=60.0) about it; might start some banter between everyone, instead of us usual 5 or 6 ;D Don't know whether anyone's been following the work being done on a spyder on the retro-rides forum, but i've badgered him to get a post going on here, some decent new metal going into it, would get some interest going on the forum, i'm sure. Quote enthusiasm is certainly the word needed.Title: Re: beta oddities Post by: WestonE on January 13, 2010, 03:35:01 PM Thank you for the tip on Retro Rides. I will be looking shortly as I have had a major Beta Spyder shell restoration done for my fuel injected VX Beta Spyder. This is a major project even by my crazy standards, but the VX Engine is done. Just the FI install and plumbing a complete suspension, brake and hub rebuild a respray and rebuild to go!
Eric PS Where did the owner of the Red VX get that bumper and is there a mould still in existance? Title: Re: beta oddities Post by: lanciamad on January 13, 2010, 05:05:55 PM Here's the link of the Spyder on retro-rides, http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=71914&page=1 (http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=71914&page=1) ... enjoy.
