Title: Sump pan baffling Post by: Nigel on July 02, 2023, 11:34:59 PM Hi all,
Its been highlighted by Ian that doing a Goodwood Track day without a proper baffled sump could cause injury. I was fortunate to acquire a sump pan from Peter a while ago and an image is below. I'm wondering if a 'simple' addition to this pan is required, or whether this existing set up is the factory solution to the known issue. Title: Re: Sump pan baffling Post by: mangocrazy on July 03, 2023, 11:49:20 AM I'm pretty sure that is as it comes from the factory. The amount of baffling there is pretty minimal and I remember Guy Croft being totally dismissive of its effectiveness. These are pics of my sump with the OE baffles removed and a BetaBoyz baffle kit welded in:

I've decided to withdraw from the event for now, and will work on a better sump arrangement for the future. Your photos are really helpful and I'll take a further look at GC's notes as well. Cheers, Nigel Title: Re: Sump pan baffling Post by: mangocrazy on July 04, 2023, 10:32:37 AM Nigel,
The Betaboyz baffle kit is based upon (i.e. 'liberated from') Guy Croft's original work. GC did actually come up with a revised version which works even better, but declined to put details out in the public domain. I'll see if I can find a link to the photos. I've tracked down the photos of GC's revised/updated Beta sump baffling.
