Title: Bootlid Springs.... Post by: SanRemo78 on June 21, 2023, 09:28:30 AM Hi all, I managed to release the two boot lid springs on my Coupe restoration this week but it was a struggle. So much so that I'm now wondering how they are reattached! Is there a technique I haven't worked out yet? I've got a while before I need to reattach them!
I was also wondering about replacing them with gas struts - has anyone done that modification yet? It may be relevant for me if I decide to run a (heavy) HiFi spoiler on the boot lid. Cheers Guy Title: Re: Bootlid Springs.... Here's a link and a photo:
And it's a Beta! ;D https://www.primetools.co.uk/product/beta-1410m-exhaust-brake-spring-puller/ (https://www.primetools.co.uk/product/beta-1410m-exhaust-brake-spring-puller/) Title: Re: Bootlid Springs.... On the Spider I used a length of cord to pull on one end of the spring to extend it. Peter |
