Does anyone have any tips on how to clean the cam covers and radiator fans? The ones on my restoration project are pretty grubby. In the past (30 plus years ago) I've used Gunk or similar to remove oil deposits but that still left stains, I don't want to use anything abrasive either for obvious reasons. The real answer here is take them off the car and take them to a Vapour blaster. They will come back looking like new. You do however want to wash them twice in parts washing fluid then once with brake cleaner before use. I have a great relationship with Chingford Metal finishing in Maidenhead who do this along with Gold Passivate plating for that original look.
