Title: 2000ie Coupe dipstick tube Post by: Dogsbody on January 01, 2023, 04:56:34 PM Hi there . Is the long dipstick tube on ie models removable? It's held by a nut and bolt at its top end but looks as if it should just pull out of the gearbox at the bottom. Is this a correct assumption?

Try undoing the top fixing nut and seeing if you can get some rotation at the bottom of the tube where it enters the gearbox casing. If you can then it'll pull out but try not to bend it!

Yes it is the same on VX and IE, I took one out of an IE box and fitted to the VX box I have which was missing one.
